Welcome to Rovaniemi City Library! 

The library was founded in 1860. At present it is housed in a beautiful building completed in 1965 and planned by the architect Alvar Aalto.

The collections of the library includes fiction, a large selection of various kinds of non-fiction, music and movies as well as newspapers and magazines pertaining to various branches of knowledge. Lapland collection is large and in many languages.Sami library collection is also comprehensive.

You can get the library card from the information desk after proving your identity. If you have an Internet connection at your disposal and password, you can renew your loans and make reservations for books currently in loan. In the library there are  computers at the disposal of our clients for Internet access.
