Lapland Regional Art Museum
Since 1993 the Rovaniemi Art Museum has operated as the Lapland Regional Art Museum alongside with the Kemi Art Musem. The area of the Rovaniemi Art Museum consists of 13 municipalities of Lapland: Enontekiö, Inari, Kemijärvi, Kittilä, Pelkosenniemi, Posio, Ranua, City of Rovaniemi, County of Rovaniemi, Salla, Savukoski, Sodankylä and Utsjoki.

As the Lapland Regional Art Museum the Rovaniemi Art Museum gives advice and counseling to communities, artists, arts associations and everyone interested in arts. It also invents the collections of commutities, parishes, companies, and associations and documents and studies art made by the Sami people and other people from Lapland. Rovaniemi Art Museum also makes touring exhibitions and publications, organizes exhibitions and produces tuition material.With the Accessible Art Museum -project the Rovaniemi Art Museum expanded its activities to include also developmenet of internet services and providing services and instruction for special groups.
The Rovaniemi Art Museum is also a part of Lapponica - Northern information servive (www.lapponica.net) together with other museum and libraries.
