 Rovaniemi Art Museum
The activities of the Rovaniemi Art Museum emphasize Finnish modern art, Northern art and art of the indigenous peoples as well as community art and environmental art. The annual exhibition programme includes productions of Lappish and Lappish-born artists, exhibitions from the collection of the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation and current trends of Finnish and international modern art.

Gallery Napa
The Artists’ Association of Lapland is an association of professional artists in the Province of Lapland. The association runs a modern art gallery, Gallery Napa. The gallery organizes mainly Finnish modern art exhibitions that change every three weeks.

Gallery Varjo
Gallery Varjo is an earthy folk gallery. Over the years, both established professionals and new, up-and-coming artists have held exhibitions in the gallery. The guest artists of Gallery Varjo have come from both near and far, even from abroad. The gallery is not a performance area limited to one specific style, technique or school: instead, it is open to varied views and diverse methods for art production. The exhibitions change every three weeks.

Galleries of the Faculty of Art and Design
The Faculty of Art and Design of the University of Lapland has four galleries that principally exhibit the artistic production of the faculty itself. In addition to the so-called traditional visual arts, the galleries also cover non-traditional productions such as industrial and media art. While the Valo, Kajon and Kilo galleries are traditional exhibition areas, Katve is a dark gallery which offers space for exhibitions such as media-related artwork and pieces using different elements of light. The Valo, Katve and Kilo galleries are situated on the first floor of the Faculty of Art and Design. The Gallery Kajo is on the fourth floor of the faculty. The exhibitions of the galleries change approximately every three weeks.

Lapponica Hall
The Regional Library of Lapland offers exhibition spaces for Lappish artists and for exhibitions with Lapland-related themes. The exhibition area is situated at the eastern end of the library, in the Lapland Department. The exhibitions change monthly and can be viewed from Monday to Saturday during the opening hours of the library.

The Arctic in Change – Arctic Centre Exhibition
The Arctic Centre Exhibition THE ARCTIC IN CHANGE of the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland. At the exhibition, visitors can learn more about ice caves, the arctic river, research stations and the arctic seasons and visit the northern lights theatre.

Northern Ways – Permanent Exhibition of the Provincial Museum of Lapland
The exhibition features different aspects of the northern people and the nature of the region over a period from prehistory to the present. The exhibition on prehistory is illustrated by dioramas and miniature models. As the central museum of the region, the Provincial Museum of Lapland also displays Sami culture. At the exhibition, you can learn more about the Sami languages and traditional music; costumes, handicrafts and reindeer husbandry.

Special Exhibitions at the Arktikum                                        
In addition to the permanent exhibition of the Provincial Museum of Lapland and the Arctic Centre Exhibition, the Arktikum hosts changing special exhibitions.

Marttiini Knife Factory                                                
The factory, built by the founder of the Marttiini Knife Factory, Janne Marttiini, was opened in 1940. The building was designed by master builder Toikkanen. The building was partly destroyed in 1944 during the Second World War, but it was repaired right after the war. The factory, a prime example of functionalism, was completely renovated in 1998 and holds a historical building classification of A+, granted by the Provincial Museum. At present, the building is home to the Martiini Knife Exhibition, factory shop and a café.
